We Are Free From The Law

Hi All,ten commandments

There is seems to be much confusion as to where the law of Moses fits in the life of the believer – to cut a long story short, it doesn’t. But to help bring understanding I thought it would be good to let the Bible speak for itself, here are a list of Scriptures that explain what the law is about; I will be doing some videos on a number of these. I have to say thanks to Phil Drysdale for the inspiration behind these, his site is definitely worth checking out.

All the Scriptures are from the NAS, but you can have fun looking at different translations. Read more

Grace – The Purity of The Gospel

The purity of the Gospel is not found in our efforts to live right, but the refusal to add anything to the good news. When the message of Jesus is contaminated with religion and self effort we end in fear and spiritual paralysis. Don’t be intimidated, rather stand unashamed of the truth that what Jesus did was enough to make you right with God.

Apologies for the inferior recording quality.

Go well my friends 🙂

Things That Make Jesus Angry

It might be hard for us to come to come to terms with, but Jesus does get angry. I don’t mean He loses the plot and becomes the slave of an emotion warped by sin, but He does get angry and seeing as He is the same yesterday, today and forever, we would do well to be aware of what hacks Him off.

Unfruitfulness

Whilst on His way to Jerusalem Jesus confronted a fruitless fig tree – Read more

Being found with no righteousness of my own.

There are only two kinds of
righteousness available to us; that which is gifted to us by God and self-righteousness – One is the gift of life and the other a deadly poison.

Most of us rightly see self-righteousness as a negative, especially in other people; we will
say things like “she is so self-righteous, who does she think she is?” A self-righteous person demands certain things because they believe they are entitled to it because of what they have done; in their mind they should be treated in a certain way because they are happy with their performance. The problem is that the rest of us may not be so impressed. Read more

Grace is not just a doctrine or study topic, it is a part of who God is, His very nature. Because of what Jesus did we will never be separated or rejected by our heavenly Father. Grace means that our acceptance and right standing is based on what Jesus did and not what we do. Now that is good news!

Pray To Repair Your Relationship With God?

What defines the quality of my relationship with my children?

Many of us have heard that we should pray in order to develop a relationship with God. Perhaps we have heard that we can’t expect God to just hear us if our prayer life has been struggling, let alone even non-existent. This leads to the belief that our faithfulness in prayer is the reason why God is seen to be faithful in our lives.

Oops!

Whoa! We just fell from grace…

Radical Grace Part 1

Grace is not just a doctrine or study topic, it is a part of who God is, His very nature.

What is made available to us through Jesus Christ is positively mind blowing, our words and understanding will never get to the bottom of it. However, this we do know – The grace of God is very, very good news, it is liberating, affirming and life transforming.

Go well my friends 🙂

Give Up!

There is absolutely no point in making any effort to appease God for your sins. The simple fact is you don’t have the right currency and you can’t afford it. The demands for sin are so far out of our league that it is ridiculous to even attempt to satisfy God’s displeasure at our sin. The Scripture is clear, the wages of sin is death, and that bill can only be satisfied with blood. Yet people continue their sensless toil in an attempt to appease God day in and day out.

I hear ministers telling people to attend their church so that God will bless them; or perhaps to give an offering or even to serve more in the church. Other churches say that prayers must be repeated, forgiveness sought and special measures must be applied to a person’s life so that God will forgive them.

The whole thing is a monumental waste of time!

Those who know the truth speak the truth…

…those who don’t, quote the Bible.

Ouch, what is all that about? First off I have credit this as quote, but I don’t know who from, but when I heard it I knew I had to blog about it.

I am concerned that some people might be sharpening their knives already but before they start being thrown let me throw this into the mix. Jesus said that there is no truth in Satan, in fact Jesus called him the father of lies and yet Satan quoted Scripture to Jesus in an attempt to make Jesus sin against His Heavenly Father by pursuing His desires over the Fathers will.
